Energy Bill Calculator

Estimate your annual energy bill based on the current Ofgem price cap unit rates.

Enter your annual electricity and gas consumption in kilowatt hours (kWh). Your energy supplier’s annual statement shows consumption; smart meter apps typically show daily or monthly figures that can be annualised. Average UK household consumption is approximately 2,700 kWh electricity and 11,500 kWh gas, but this varies significantly with property size, insulation level, heating system, and occupancy. The calculator applies current Ofgem price cap unit rates and standing charges. If you are on a fixed-rate tariff, your unit rate may differ from the cap — use your actual tariff rate from your bill or supplier app. The cap protects variable tariff customers; fixed tariff customers agreed their rate separately and it may be above or below the cap depending on when they fixed.
